HIDDEN PAST, MICRO-HISTORY AND PROCESSES: MAN AND ENVIRONMENT FROM AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL POINT OF VIEW
Fabio Saggioro

From a methodological point of view, the lecture will show the development in recent decades of new methodologies and new approaches in archeology, useful for the knowledge of populations in the past. The study of the man-environment relationship and the distribution of anthropogenic presences over the different territories will be central to understanding reciprocal conditioning.

Some examples will allow to highlight the importance of an evaluation of environmental transformations in historical times, to understand population and settlement dynamics.
